Jakkalswater Guest Farm

Sound and Soil is extremely grateful to be collaborating with Jakkalswater Guest Farm which is situated at the foothills of the granite heads of the Kamiesberg in Namaqualand (Northern Cape) , where quiver trees lookout across the valley.

We have been warmly welcomed and assisted by Reinhart Straszacker (manager of Jakkalswater) and his supportive team who have offered us space to create our performances throughout this last week. Their constant assistance and supportive care has been offered in a myriad of ways, with each day ending in the most wonderful home-cooked meals whilst sharing the happenings of the day.

It is without a doubt that the residency week would have have been a completely different experience without Reinhart's compassionate heart, which we are deeply appreciate of.

Jakkalswater, situated about 15km outside Springbok (on the Nababeep road) and about 6km from the N7 highway off ramp in the heart of Namaqualand in the Northern Cape, is a necessary stop that will leave you changed.
